About Hobby Lobby
About Hobby Lobby
Hobby Lobby is a popular retail chain known for its wide selection of arts and crafts supplies, home décor, party goods, and more. What started in 1972 as a small Oklahoma City store has grown into a nationwide favorite for creative hobbyists and DIYers. Founded by David Green, who had a background in retail, the store originally focused on basics like paint, yarn, beads, and faux greenery. The idea took off quickly, leading to the opening of seven stores within its first decade and expanding beyond Oklahoma in the 1980s and ’90s. Today, Hobby Lobby has 932 stores across the U.S. and offers online shopping as well. It's open every day except Sunday and continues to add new product categories, making it a go-to spot for both crafting and home decorating needs.

Sales calendar
What are the best Hobby Lobby sales and seasonal discounts?
Regular Sales
Hobby Lobby has a few items that are almost always on sale. Their furniture, custom framing, books, wearable art and home décor fabric departments are always 30% off. Home décor, floral arrangements and art supplies are 50% off every other week. When shopping for these items, save by waiting until there's a discount.
Annual Sales
Most annual sales happen before the holidays, so customers can stock up on supplies for holiday crafts. Expect big sales around Easter, Christmas, Halloween and Valentine's Day. There are also hefty clearance sales right after holidays when the store needs to clear out holiday-themed décor.
Black Friday Cricut Sale
During Black Friday, Hobby Lobby just runs their usual sales. One notable exception is their Cricut machines that are heavily discounted. Black Friday at Hobby Lobby is one of the only times these expensive machines go on sale anywhere.
Price match
What is Hobby Lobby's price matching and adjustment policy?
Hobby Lobby price matches items from any ads run at Michaels or JOANN. Please note they will not price match regular-priced items, just special promotions offered by the other store.
Discounts
What appreciation savings does Hobby Lobby offer?
Teachers often get 10% off their purchase when shopping at the store. Some stores may also waive the tax for teachers' purchases.
Questions shoppers ask about Hobby Lobby
Did Hobby Lobby discontinue its 40% and 50% off coupons?
Yes. In a way, Hobby Lobby has discontinued coupons in the traditional sense. Shoppers used to be able to go to HobbyLobby.com and get a 40% off (or even 50% off) coupon with a barcode to be used in-store or a Hobby Lobby coupon code to be used online. Hobby Lobby stopped offering those famous coupons, and now it is more likely to offer category sales and discounts, which it advertises in its weekly ad. All you'll need to do is shop qualifying items during the dates the ad runs.
Does Hobby Lobby match Michaels coupons? Or other competitor coupons?
If you shop in stores, Hobby Lobby will honor competitors' ads if a specific price is listed and if Hobby Lobby stocks that exact same item. They will not honor competitors' percent-off deals. They will also not match holiday doorbuster pricing from competitors.
Where can I find Hobby Lobby's weekly ad?
Hobby Lobby's weekly ad can be viewed through their website on the 'Weekly Ad' page. If you downloaded the Hobby Lobby app or are signed up for the store's email list, you will also get the weekly ad in your inbox or on your phone.
How do I sign up for Hobby Lobby emails?
Go to HobbyLobby.com and find the email sign-up form at the top of the page. Signing up for Hobby Lobby emails ensures the latest deals and sales will be sent straight to your inbox.
What does Hobby Lobby do for Black Friday?
In the past, Hobby Lobby took 50% off select items, including Christmas and holiday decorations, for its Black Friday Sale. Online shoppers could also get free shipping on orders of $50 or more.
Does Hobby Lobby offer free shipping?
Hobby Lobby occasionally runs free shipping promotions on orders of $50 or more. But that's not always the case, so be sure to check your local Hobby Lobby weekly ad or the Hobby Lobby website before shopping.
Otherwise, Hobby Lobby's shipping is based on the order's subtotal amount. The price of shipping increases with the amount spent, so that can range from a $7.95 shipping charge for an order of $15 to $999.95 shipping charge for an order more than $9,999.99. You can also opt to pay extra for overnight or two-day expedited shipping.
Does Hobby Lobby have buy online, pick up in-store?
No. Hobby Lobby does not have in-store pickup or curbside pickup. If you shop online, your only option is to have your item shipped directly to your home.
What is Hobby Lobby's return policy?
Online returns can be returned through the mail or to a store, and in-store purchases must be returned to a store. Returns have to be made within 90 days. Without a receipt, customers will get store credit instead of cashback.
