About Party City
About Party City
Party City is an American retail chain of party stores that sells a variety of party supplies, costumes, and special occasion items. Party City was founded by Steve Mandell in East Hanover, New Jersey, in 1986. What started as a single 4,000-square-foot location rapidly turned into a success and the opening of more locations. After a successful first year of business, Mandell turned his focus to Halloween, which proved to be a wise move. Halloween continues to be a year-round emphasis within Party City stores and has branched out to include about 300 Halloween City pop-up locations annually. Party City is now the largest party goods retailer in all of North America, with over 900 company-owned and franchise outlets. Party City offers its party supplies in a rainbow of colors and a plethora of themes, licensed characters, and sports teams to suit any occasion. It also provides items for holidays and special occasions such as baby showers, graduations, and weddings. Halloween costumes are available year-round. In-store locations can fill balloons with helium, while some offer balloon delivery.
