Returns
What is Zipcar's return and refund policy?
Unused portions of booked rides cannot be refunded or credited, even if the Zipcar is returned early. Trips can only be canceled for a full refund if it’s within 30 minutes of booking and up to three hours before starting (for trips under eight hours) or at least 24 hours in advance (for trips over eight hours).
Cancellations
What is Zipcar's cancellation policy?
To cancel your Zipcar membership, log in to your account on the website or mobile app, navigate to My Account, then click on your membership plan. From this page, select “cancel Membership” and follow the prompts for confirmation. Alternatively, you may pause your membership for up to three months instead of canceling it permanently. Once canceled, you can still book cars until the end of your billing cycle. If you have a family plan, all drivers' memberships will be canceled as well, but they can still book cars until the end of the billing cycle. Any remaining balance on your account will be charged or credited to the credit card on file.

Zipcar requires a membership in order to use its services, with options to pay monthly or annually. Membership includes the following benefits:
- Secondary insurance for all trips.
- Gas included with every trip.
- Maintenance and 24/7 roadside assistance.
- 200 miles per day (then a flat rate per mile after).

What appreciation savings does Zipcar offer?
University Discount
Alumni, students, and faculty and staff with a valid .edu email address qualify for a discount on their annual Zipcar membership. Students must be 18 and older, while alumni and faculty/staff must be 21 and older. To take advantage of the university discount, visit the University page of the Zipcar website.
